Introductions
Hello World;
I have for some time been writing on religious themes but I am excited by this expanded audience. As a way of introduction I am a lifetime, faithful, practicing Catholic. To make matters worse I have worked professionally, for almost 30 years within the Catholic Church. First in the world of Youth Ministry later within Religious Education and finally in most areas of Pastoral Ministry. I worked on the Diocesan, Regional and Parish levels and have a BA in Religious Studies from Seattle University and MA in Pastoral Ministries with an emphasis in Religious Education from Boston College. I have been a wife. I am a mother of a teen and the child of now deceased parents. I was born in western Washington State; started my ministry in Louisiana; spent extended time in Boston and now reside in Michigan. Right now not only am I involved in parish ministry but in part ownership of a Catholic store as well as co-authoring a catechetical program for middle schoolers. Now you know alittle about me.
At present I publish a weekly article in our parish bulletin that either reflects on the Sunday readings or follows the Church seasons. My hope is to offer those articles here along with some resource materials to further our spiritual growth. It is difficult, I find, to be a person of faith in our secular society. It is more acceptable to profess oneself as a witch then to wear a scapula or stand up against abortion. We as followers of Christ are often counter to our contemporary culture and it can be exhausting if we don’t find and offer support to one another. And so that will be the direction and theme of my weekly meanderings. I hope and pray that you find comfort in your afflictions and afflicted where you are too comfortable. I remain,
Your Servant in Christ, Theresa
